Bonus...

We went school supply shopping today. I don't know about other parts of the country, but in Florida, we have school supplies that need to be purchased to supply the classroom.

Brief pause to address the Florida State Legislature:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Why is it you felt that it was necessary to cut school funding AGAIN?! Oh, what? the lottery is supposed to supplement education in Florida...Really?! So instead of improving the school system by using that money to supplement education, it was a better idea to cut the education budget to next to nil and just use that?! Hmmm... Good thinking! May be that's why Florida isn't doing too well in regards to national educational statistics...just a thought.

Are you kidding? That is a crazy list! And, you have a first grader right? Great, I won't find out till next week what I need, but I haven't even gone school shopping at all yet, so that should be fun. Me, my three kids, and a list that drags along the floor..

PS - commercial is GREAT! I may have to steal that one from you. I love it! I was so shocked when I saw your lists, I didn't even look at it.

This is one of the funniest commercials ever.

These lists look similar to the ones my girls need. My girls will be in K and 2nd grade and their supply lists include gallon & sandwich size ziploc bags, paper towels, kleenex, clorox wipes, baby wipes, hand sanitizer and band-aids... in addition to the "normal" stuff like crayons and glue sticks. Half the list is cleaning supplies... sheesh!

I love that commercial. I love going to places like Staples and walking the pencil aisle, the sticky note aisle, the paper aisle...
That stinks on the class lists. I love how you get to spend your money suppling things twice. Once in taxes and then buying them for real when the taxes didn't cover it.

wow- that's one pricey list! The commercial was great - and I couldn't agree more! Thankfully school started last week... I desperately need the break!

Thanks for stopping by earlier. :) I hope you're enjoying your Sauciness too!

I was so geeked to find MY favorite commercial ever on this post! I am a bonafide office supply junkie. I always loved shopping for school supplies all the way through college.

I often find myself humming this song when I am browsing for pencil lead, notebooks, and my all time favorite: index cards.

Thanks for adding a smile to my Sunday!

Oh, you posted our favorite commercial! But your supply list is OUTRAGEOUS! Why does your fifth grader need 12 folders? Are you buying that much to supply others in his class? And I can't believe that your lists are brand specific!

Love love LOVE that commercial! And it never ceases to amaze me the list that even my 2 preschoolers have to take with them on their first day. WTF?!
