Ladies and Gentleman, it's once again time to play, Candid Carrie's Friday Foto Fiesta Finish. After your done here, go over there and see who's playing this week...
I just want to go on the record to say generally I'm not a mean Mommy. However, I've been given a 1st child who is the total opposite of me when it comes to rides. I can't tell you how many times I have waited in line for a ride with this child and had to turn back around as soon as we were about to get on a ride because she start flipping out. As I've mentioned in earlier posts, my sister and I are trying to carry on a family tradition of going to a kid's amusement park in Lancaster, PA called Dutch Wonderland. Let me emphasize the word KID'S; there are NO scary rides in this park...except if your name is Cameron. So I had the brillant idea that I could trick her onto the the KID'S flume ride and she would just have to love it! Well I was WRONG and I have the pictures to prove it. And that hysterical laughter you see coming from me? Well, I just have a twisted sense of humor.

When we were at Disney, the girls wanted to go on the Goofy roller coaster. It's a kids' coaster, but it has some pretty good dips & turns. My youngest actually did ok, but my middle kid...was horrified. And I laughed my butt off! Twisted, that's what we are.
You are a very mean mommy... (bwaaa..haa haaa...) remember turning the radio up until Alicia was crying when we picked her up from pre school? (this is my little sister....before we knew better)
Heehee! You are a mean mommy! Just kidding. I remember my sister was the exact same way & my dad would make her go on the rides anyways. She would close her eyes shut and as soon as the ride was over, she would want to go again. And we would have to stand in line all over again!
You are just like my mom, she would laugh when things like that happened. :)
You're very mean--just like me!!
What FUN! You mean ol' mommy. ;)
You must have had a friend take a photo of you... that is a hoot!
I love mean mommies... partly because I'm one too! Happy FFFF! :)
Aww, poor gal. She'll probably change her mind as she gets older!
Funny. :) I'm sure she'll recover. If not, then at least she'll have something to share with her therapist years from now.
My dad was the same way - if we waited in line and I freaked out (as I was wont to do) He would say: "Too bad, we're here now. Get on!"
And - in case you didn't notice - I survived just fine. :)
I had to do the same thing once...mean mom no way!
ok seriously I am tearing up..
1. because I am not sure why they have parks like that in Lancaster.
2. because I hope my kids not like that
and 3. because that picture set is too funny

Great pictures! Who knew Dutch Wonderland was so scary?
You have an award to pick up here http://nowenteringmomville.blogspot.com/2008/08/award-re-draw-and-hint.html
Sooo glad I'm not the only mean mommy out there! I'm just cracking up because that really, really reminds me of myself & something that would happen with my oldest, who also doesn't like rides. Too funny!
Oh nooo!!! LOL too funny - thanks for sharing. I'm sure she won't be scarred for life.
Sometimes, Mamma Bird has to kick Baby Bird out of the nest:-) Hee, hee, hee.
that is just too funny. nice, mom!
that is just too funny. nice, mom!
That is mean...but funny! I hope she learns to enjoy the rides so she can be part of that tradition!
Mine are like that too!!!! Youngest is fearless... she will try any ride once. Oldest is a big ol' 'fraidy cat. Sheesh.
If you're a mean mommy, then I must be pure evil! I wouldn't even "trick" my kid into going on a ride... I'd make her!
Sadly I am laughing hard along with you.
OH MY does this bring back memories from my own childhood. My dad tricked my brother into standing in line and going into the Haunted Mansion at Disney land. I think he told my brother it was the ride for It's a Small World. Let's just say the closer we got to the Haunted Mansion the less gullable my brother was. He was on to my dad. My dad made him go anyway and immediately after the elevator with the faces my brother and father made a bee line for the Chicken exit. My brother still remembers that lie to this day. OH, those were good times I tell ya. ;)
LOL! I have the same sense of humor! Esp. if my kids are going to make me wait that long.
Great pictures!
I so would have done the same thing. Down to the laughing after. So I guess I am as twisted as you.
Gosh, I feel bad laughing, but the look on your face and the look on hers. haha Sooo opposite!! She looks terrified!
I love the photos!
Have a great week-end!
Lee :)
Poor Cameron. Can you not picture her and the therapist?
I think those are some of the very few moments we get as parents that are truly rewarding!!! lol
I may just be a little warped.
You're my hero! I love rides and my youngest son refuses to go on them. At least the the older ones will.
This is my first time to your blog, and I have really enjoyed it. Thanks for visiting my blog today. :)
LOL those are great! You get a laugh and she can tell her therapist about it when she's a grown up (at least that's what I tell my kids when I torture them!)
Thaose pictures are darn funny amd mean mummy?? No way!!!
I used to do the same thing and as far as I know, my kids never needed thrapy. Well, at least not for that!!
I'm with her I hate those rides too! Thanks for sharing and stopping by! Much Love from Louisiana
I can so relate to your daughter. It took me a long time to ride the flume or "kiddie" roller coaster. I still can't do the big high ones.
But the spinning stuff. Yeah, I'm all over them. Love 'em. Never could figure out why I'm so afraid except I can't stand heights.
I have done that too! We got to the end of the long long line and my daughter said nah, that's okay and I said...oh no you don't, your riding! We rode, she cried, we got off, she asked to ride it agian!! Kids!!
It's fun to be mom.
Ok, I was one of those scared lil kids....then I got older and would ride anything.....then I got older and watched the news where there was an accident at a fun park every other day. So, I have to admit, I'm glad Z is a scaredy cat too!!!! I'm sure you got her something good and sugary to eat or drink to make her happy afterwards though.... ;)
Now, this looks like some of MY handywork! We're in the mean mommy club together apparently. :-)
