Jackson whom I fondly refer to as
"Jack-Jack", "Bubba", and "The Dude" is about to get a new nickname..."Lil' Bastard" or LB for short. Shocking, I know; my husband doesn't approve either.
Jackson,
I'll be nice for now, is starting to become
a brat challenging at times especially when those
times involve Jackson not getting
his way
. Now remember, he is my 3rd child...I've been through this stage twice before, but the girls going through terrible two's were totally different the boy going through terrible two's. My girls would throw themselves down on the ground and pitch a fit worthy of an
Oscar nod (it was actually pretty comical to watch). Jackson, on the other hand, gets a serious, contemplative look on his face, calmly walks away, picks up something (a toy, book, cup, 8x10 picture frame) and throws it at you! If he doesn't make his target, never fear, he either tries to throw it again or he just hauls off and hits you. What an angel baby!!
So Jackson has now experienced the joy of time out...for which he responds like this...
and this:
I'm still trying to capture the serious look, followed by the different stages so people will believe me when they find him
tied up in time out. I just need to find protective gear first.

Kelly - you always make me laugh with your posts. I am totally understanding the girl side of it - Abby & Emma are still in the terrible two's. And it is just so much fun!!!! Maybe a hockey mask with a helmet may be the way to go?!?
I think the armor is a good choice.
And maybe a few adult beverages to boot. Good luck!
See I am just the opposite. I can used to the boy thing but the girl thing is totally something new. She just follows we around throwing her tantrum as we go.
Oh yeah... I remember those days!
Oh Thank god someone else has a boy liek this. My daughter went through the terrible 3's but ti was mostly not listening and back talking. She never threw herself on the floor or screamed and yelled. The minute my son turned 2 all hell broke loose. He started off with throwing himself on the ground and kicking and screaming. When that didn't work he starte3d throwing things and hitting me. He also get's that look on his face before he blows. I can't wait for this stage to be over with.
My 3.5 year old is having the most horrific temper tantrums now. I'm sure part of it is move related - the other part is that she just doesn't know how to control her emotions. She screams loudly and long, and rather often. I am to the point where I just let her scream - which irritates her even further.
And don't think that girls don't throw stuff... she slugs her sister, kicks me, and if she doesn't like what you give her - watch out. Cups of water have been known to fly by.
I oftentimes want to put a sign on her neck that says, "Free to a good home."
Hey, Mine started going through the terrible two's and hasn't stopped yet. She will be 4 in December.
Ay Yi Yi!
Linda
HAHAHA.....I have to laugh because as you described LB you could have been describing my son! What is it with all the throwing???? UGGGH!!!!
Congrats on being saucy this week!!!
LOL! I'm just imagining his thoughts when you were taking a pic of his fit...LOL!
LOL! That poor, poor baby! Next time he's in one of those moods take him to visit the Sears lady.
This is too funny, oh well, at least he's cute. I have one of those too. When he throws a fit, you just want to lock him up somewhere and wait it out.
That armor is stylin'! Let me know which one you go with and if it comes in a pastel blue. I prefer blue for my full body armor.
LOL the pictures when they are mid-fit are always the best, no? ;) Poor Jack Jack ... *snicker*
Poor LB (LOL)! Even when he's crying he's SO cute!! Miss Pickle is doing the full-blown, throws herself down Drama Queen stuff. There's something so comical about an angry toddler!
Both my boys threw and hit when they were 2-3 years old. Frustrating age, I agree.
I like the protective gear though, good idea! lol
We've got a Terror at Two in the house as well. And she does throw, hit and once even bit me. She does look a bit like your guy after time out too.
I vote for protective gear. Let me know where you get yours and I'll pick some up too.
Yup, we haven't been long gone from those days... Now we are dealing with the Sassy Threes... Ah, the fun.
LOL!!! Our pediatrician told us they don't call it the terrible two's because they are two- it's because it lasts at least two years!!
Prayers to you girl! This too shall pass!!!
Happy Saucy day SITSta!
I am enjoying your blog and totally feel your pain. My youngest just crossed over the threshold of two-dom. AWFUL! It's so bad our sitter is going on vacation for two weeks and the Hubs wanted to ask how much for her to take him with her!
Oh, man. I had the girls. The oscar nominations and all. My mother says that when I was this age, I was mad, held my breath, and then passed out on our floor. You know those floors in the older Florida homes? Kinda like polished concrete? Yeah, so imagine trying to explain why your child has a concussion.
