Are we crazy?

My husband thinks so...I think we're brilliant; only time will tell...

I created a babysitting co-op with 2 other "Brownie" families; the inaugural event is tonight at my house.  The plan is simple...we trade kids for a couple of hours every three weeks so we have "scheduled" adult time.  A total of 8 children (including my own) will be descending upon our house between 5-6 pm and leaving at 9 pm.

I am trying to be as organized about this as is possible for me...we have personal pizza making for dinner, Cameron is in charge of the craft project (which I have no idea what she has planned), and of course, we have the tournament of champions playing Wii.  I'm just hoping we don't go through all our activities in the first 1/2 hour!!

Hubby keeps shaking his head and getting indigestion just thinking of 5 extra kids in our domicile.  I believe he secretly hoping for a call out tonight!  I keep reminding him to keep the big picture in mind...we don't have to do this for 9 more weeks and we get 2 kid-free nights owed to us in the next 6 weeks.  He believes that this will be the only time this happens and we're the suckers....time will tell.

If anyone has any good activity ideas for the kids, send them my way!!

Coming over from SITS....

I'm assuming that your girls will be 6-9ish in age, so I'll share what we did for my daughter's 7th birthday party that the girls loved.

We bought some temporary colored hair spray, and did a little salon. We purchased some bright nail polish and painted their nails to match their hair. Some girls had green and blue hair, so their nails matched perfectly! It might be something you could consider doing in between WII tournaments. :)

I think you are the smartest girl I know! Really! It's tough sometimes finacially for everyone to afford a babysitter and money left over for an actual date night...this helps everyone! I say Great idea! Good luck...I think you are on to something!!

I think it's a great idea as long as the other parents pull their weight! Good Luck tonight and let us know how it all works out.

Oh as for fun activities All American Animals just wrote a post about how her her boys played Clue acting it out around their house and it sounds like a lot of fun without much work.

What a great idea!
We just got Pictureka , a kind of I Spy board game that is really fun. You can play teams and don't have to read to play (in case any are little kids).

Wish I could come over to play Wii!
I swear I am the only house in the world that doesn't own it.
