A question and a surprise

Okay, all you bloggers out there who are not only addicted to blogging, but also Facebook-ing (is that a word?!) have you discovered that you suffer from significant memory lapses or is it just me? Let me clarify...there are these people who went to the same school as you did, you have many, many "friends" in common, but you don't know who the HELL they are?! My lack of memory is really freaking me out!! The names sound kinda familiar, but I CAN'T place them! I finally got some relief when a guy from my college class (didn't remember him either!) posted all these newspaper pictures from my senior year...now my memory is coming back (somewhat). Please tell me that this is a facebook phenomenon and that I don't have to start Aricept® for early onset dementia!!

Now the surprise...well not for me, but the girls. My Mom called at the end of last week to let me know she would be visiting family friends in Pembroke Pines (~4 hrs away). She's going to be driving up tomorrow to surprise the girls at school. I can't wait to hear about how the surprise goes!!!

Do you know how many people I talk to that tell me in the last couple weeks they've had to go dig out the high school yearbook to figure out who all these folks are on their facebook.

My two best friends and I are currently planning our 10 year class reunion so we are going through and requesting everyone that states they were in our class to be our friends just to help get the word out and I don't remember half of them so it's not just you.

Great surprise! They will love that! I was on Facebook for a week but it really just got on my nerves (not sure why though). But someone years older than me - started a website via ning.com for anyone who went to my high school. The classes go back to 1952 up to current day. So, that is fun!

Oh I am sure they will love it! And I know what you are talking re. Facebook! We have started posting old photos - that helps a bit.

I can't manage my darn blog let alone Facebook, Twitter, yada yada yada! I sure do relate to the memory lapse thingy...I think it's cause I'm 43..I can't remember my kids names half the time! lol!

Oh, I meant to tell you that is strange. Tell your friend that my cousin's name was Kim Hadder Werner. Just to make sure. Kim's husband coached (QB coach) at Auburn, AL (near Ozark - I think). So it may be her. Tell your friend I am sorry - it is a difficult thing to go through.

I am SOOO glad it isn't just me! I see the "people you may know" people who were in the same class as me and I draw complete blanks! LOL

What a wonderful surprise from your mom!! :)

I'm right there with you. My high school class is on FB... and I get friend requests all the time. I have NO clue who at least 1/4 of them are... but not only the names, the faces too.

Listen.... I've only been out of high school for 7 years and I have this problem. I don't think you need dementia meds. OR... if you do... I'm in a heap of trouble... let's just say it is totally normal. Okay? :)

My best friend and I have called each other numerous times with the "do you remember...?" because some yahoo we went to school with wants to be "friends." I have only sent out friend invites to people I was good friends with and am honestly interested in reconnecting. I have accepted invites, on the other hand, from a lot of people who obviously don't use the same criteria.

I do a little bit of facebook, but I have found that I totally forget who people are - in real life. I still live in the same town, so it happens often. It's kind of awkward. I'm sure there are people who don't remember me, either - I just don't talk to them to know it because I don't know who they are. You are not alone!

This is the reason they invented yearbooks. I am convinced. That is the only clue to some of the people who have facebooked me. LOL... it's kinda fun (ny) to figure it out..

It's so depressing when you have no idea who a person is, who all of your friends seem to know, isn't it?!

I have been turning down friend requests left & right from people that I either don't remember or who I didn't like back then and don't really care to know now. Is that mean? :-)

LOL I used to get little messages like "blah blah" wants to be your friend. Once I called my SIS and was like who IS this? She was said, "Jen! That's our cousin" OOPS I'm horrible, I know. I just added some more bits of paradise to my Aloha give away. I hope you stop by to enter. Hugs, Jen
